Crossover Story
Crossover Ministries was born from a bible study in the living room of its founder and Pastor Ralph P. Bessard Jr. in the summer of 2005. The Bible study began when Pastor Ralph was given a vision “To Love God’s People with a Deeper Resolve.” In our second year that vision has become a reality as the members of Crossover Ministries have reached to connect with the community and the less fortunate of the greater Los Angeles area.
Pastor Ralph believes that Love is what is needed to experience life. Without Christ one cannot experience love, without love one cannot experience life. The goal of Crossover is to create an entity where life through love is the norm; people can worship Jesus Christ free from legalism, ritual and religion; and believers learn to love people where they are, to help them move to become who God intended them to be! By losing the facade of religion and keeping our actions in line with the Spirit of God, we no longer compromise with sin and ineffectiveness. We build the church by cooperating with God through faithfulness to His Word and glorifying Him in every occasion!
What We Believe
We believe in the Holy Spirit who proceeds from the Father and the Son and is ever present and active in the work of convicting and regenerating the sinner and sanctifying the believer into all truth.
The Triune Godhead We believe in the Unity of the true and living God who is eternal, self existent and revealed as one being-father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Power & Authority
of the Bible We affirm the divine inspiration, truthfulness and authority of both the Old and New Testament Scriptures in its entirety as the only written and unchangeable word of God. We also affirm the power of God’s word to bring salvation, illuminate the believer’s mind and bring revelation to the church.
Salvation of Man
We believe salvation is received through the repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. This experience is an instantaneous and complete operation of the Holy Spirit whereupon the believing sinner is regenerated, justified and adopted into the family of God and becomes a new creation in Christ and an heir to eternal life.
The Church
The church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit. All believers are written in Heaven and an integral, unique, specific part of the general assembly.
Baptism
We believe in Baptism by full immersion in water in the name of the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit is required by Christ upon all who repented and have believed and that is symbolic of our identification with Christ in his death, burial, and resurrection.
The Lord’s Supper
Consisting of partaking of elements of bread and the fruit of the vine as a memorial of his suffering and death and a prophecy of His second coming and is encouraged upon all believers.
Baptism in the Holy Spirit
We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit is the bestowing on the believer power to be an effective witness for Christ. This experience is distinct; by faith. We believe in the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit today.
Divine Healing
We believe that divine healing for the body as with all redemptive blessings, has been provided for us by the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Worship
We believe worship is necessary and primary for ushering in the presence of God. The worship of God is pursued with zeal and humility and offered with reverence and joy.
Love
We believe that love covers a multitude of sins and never fails. We believe the author and perfector of life, God is love and therefore we believe it is through Love we will come to know life.
The Second Coming of Christ
We believe in the imminent and personal return of Jesus Christ to gather His people to himself.
